Job summary

Murphy is seeking a SHES Manager to join the Energy Team on EGL1/2 Projects in the North East. The role focuses on leading SHESQ activities, mentoring site teams and ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, company procedures, and ISO standards.

You will manage inspections, investigations and SHESQ campaigns, driving continuous improvement across engineering and construction activities within a multi-country EPC environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a SHES/Health & Safety managerial role.
• Senior SHESQ membership at specialist level.
• IOSH / IEMA / CQI qualifications are preferred.
• MS Office package knowledge (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, MS Project).
• Good understanding of ISO 9001, 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 standards.

Responsibilities

• Establish leadership in SHESQ best practices with the SHESQ function.
• Advise and support managers to discharge SHESQ responsibilities under legislation and procedures.
• Ensure management controls so personnel are aware of statutory duties and responsibilities.
• Lead site management to ensure SHESQ plan compliance.
• Conduct inspections/audits of sites to verify policy compliance.
• Lead accident/incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and implement SHESQ campaigns and improvement plans with leadership.
• Manage SHESQ documentation and ensure compliance with contracts.
