Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior SHES Advisor to work on energy projects from Norwich to Tilbury. You will advise managers, investigate incidents, and drive SHESQ improvements across civil engineering work.

The role requires experience in health & safety within construction, knowledge of ISO 9001/14001 and BS OHSAS 18001, and a willingness to travel across sites in the UK.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a SHES advisor, Health & Safety, or similar position.
• Experience in civil engineering/construction.
• Solid understanding of the requirements of the ISO 9001, 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 standards.
• Full UK Licence & flexible with travel.

Responsibilities

• Advise and aid Managers and Supervisors to discharge their Health & Safety responsibilities towards employees as defined by Legislation and Company procedure.
• Ensure personnel are aware of their statutory duties and provide advice as required.
• Aid management teams to ensure compliance with SHESQ Plans.
• Carry out accident/incident investigations and recommend measures to prevent recurrences.
• Manage and collate SHESQ data to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Assist and manage the audit programme; conduct audits when required.
• Participate in working groups/forums as required.
• Participate in committees and joint consultations affecting the workforce as required.
• Monitor equipment.
• Implement Best Practice and seek innovations to improve the Business Unit.

A day in the life of a Murphy (H &S) Senior SHES Advisor?

• - Advise and aid Managers and Supervisors to discharge their Health & Safety responsibilities towards employees as defined by Legislation and Company procedure
• - Ensure that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and to provide advice as and when required
• - Aid management teams to ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in the SHESQ Plans.
• - Carry out accident/incident investigations in accordance with the Company procedure and, analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences
• - Manage and collate the data on SHESQ related issues to find areas for continuous improvement through trends and data analysis
• - Assist and manage the audit programme; carry out audits when required
• - Participate in working groups / forums as required
• - Participate in the work of committees and joint consultations affecting the workforce as required
• - Monitoring of equipment
• - Implement Best Practice and actively seeking innovations to introduce into the Business Unit
