Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Section Engineer to work with Energy on the HWUP Project in Pelham.

The role involves resolving technical issues, performing site inspections, producing survey information, and ensuring calibration and compliance with project requirements. You will oversee materials, supervise environmental standards, and support KPI updates for the project team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or similar required.
• Previous experience in a Section or Site Engineer role.
• Experience on construction or civil engineering projects.
• Experience in surveying and setting out techniques.
• Strong understanding of Quality, Safety, Health, Environmental and Sustainability requirements.

Responsibilities

• Resolving technical problems at all levels.
• Carry out inspections in line with the Inspection and Test Plan.
• Produce survey information and red-lined As-built drawings.
• Ensure equipment is calibrated and in date per policy and manufacturer requirements.
• Ensure construction operations meet Contract requirements with proper procedures.
• Provide clear, accurate information to site personnel.
• Supervise outputs and confirm project environmental requirements are met.
• Ensure materials on site are suitable and stored properly.
• Assist Site Management to update KPI, material reconciliation and progress reports.

A day in the life of a Murphy Section Engineer:

• Resolving technical problems at all levels.
• Carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan in a timely manner.
• The production of survey information and red – lined drawings for the completion of the As-built records.
• Ensure equipment is calibrated, in date and suitable checked in accordance with company policies and the manufacturers’ defined requirements.
• Ensure construction operations are carried out in accordance with the Contract requirements using the appropriate procedures.
• Ensure all site personnel have clear, accurate and appropriate information to carry out their duties.
• Supervises the outputs and confirms that the project environmental requirements are met.
• Ensure all materials on site are suitable, stored in line with manufacturer’s recommendations current working practice, contract specification or project requirements.
• Assist the Site Management team to update KPI’s, material reconciliation and progress reports.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified Civil Engineering or Similar
• Previous experience within a Section or Site Engineer role
• Experience on Construction or Civil Engineering projects.
• Experienced in surveying and setting out techniques
• Sound understanding of Quality, Safety, Health, Environmental and Sustainability project requirements.
