Senior SharePoint Developer and Azure Solutions Lead

Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Technical Lead Developer and SME to own, maintain, and evolve a complex Microsoft 365 and Azure ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of SharePoint Online Expert, O365/AZURE AI Cloud Architecture. You will be responsible for running enterprise-grade systems while acting as a Solution Architect to design future-ready solutions in O365.

This is a hands-on engineering role. Expect to write code regularly in PowerShell and Python, build integrations, and support production workloads. Strong developer experience is needed for this role.

Key Responsibilities

SharePoint Online & Microsoft 365 Governance

• Site Architecture: Own the lifecycle and governance of 150+ SharePoint Online site collections, including Hub architecture, independent document libraries, and permissions, across two tenants.
• Automation: Execute bulk operations, provisioning, and maintenance using PowerShell and backend scripting (automation-first approach).
• SME Role: Serve as the M365 Subject Matter Expert, advising on best practices, security, and information architecture.
• Enterprise Workflows: Design and optimize Power Automate workflows for multi-site processing.
• Resource Management: Manage Azure Resource Groups across Development, Staging, and Production environments.
• Identity & Access: Manage Azure Entra ID (Azure AD) App Registrations, including API permissions, redirect URIs, and secure service-to-service connectivity.
• Database Admin: Administer Azure SQL Servers, handling firewall rules, IP, and connectivity security, etc.

AI, Search & Python Development

• AI Architecture: Design & maintain Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Search solutions, including vectorizing documents from SPO libraries and managing indexes/skillsets.
• Full Stack Integration: Maintain a Python-based web application hosted on Azure App Services.
• Backend Logic: Build pipelines using Azure Functions to synchronize content from SharePoint to AI search indexes for semantic retrieval.
• Maintain and upgrade internal Chat Bots built in MS Azure.

Required Skills & Experience

• Identity: Azure Entra ID (App Registrations, Managed Identities).
• Soft Skills: Strong ownership mentality, ability to juggle multiple priorities, and a consulting mindset for proposal/RFP work.

Must-Have Qualifications (Core / Required)

• Bachelor’s in computer science or other Technical Degree with an IT specific major(MUST HAVE US DEGREE)
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant, demonstrable experience
• Strong hands-on programming skills (coding-heavy role; not administrative)
• Advanced SharePoint Online architecture (large-scale site collections, hub sites)
• PowerShell for automation, provisioning, bulk operations
• Power Automate and/or Azure Logic Apps for workflow automation
• Azure Entra ID: App registrations, application permissions, secure APIs
• Ownership of production systems and incident resolution
