Job summary

Jobtailor in Merrillville, IN seeks a data-driven Finance/Regulatory Analyst to translate complex data into actionable insights. You will reconcile financial statements, support MISO settlements, and develop reporting controls across ES&O, Accounting, and Rates.

The role requires 4+ years in finance or regulatory fields, Excel mastery, Power BI dashboards, and strong communication. MBA preferred; US work authorization essential.

Qualifications

  • Requires 4 year degree in business discipline
  • 4-6 years experience in Finance, Accounting, Regulatory or a related field
  • Requires knowledge of PC applications
  • Knowledge proficiency of Finance and Accounting principles, including relationships between balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow
  • Knowledge proficiency of MISO charge types and settlement statements
  • Experience operating a third-party shadow settlement system
  • Ability to analyze information from varied sources and make recommendations
  • Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and maintain quality
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel pivot tables, macro creation, statistical analysis, and data scrubbing
  • Experience creating Power BI dashboards or using other Data Analytics tools
  • Presentation skills and verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience writing prompts for use in Copilot
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future
  • MBA preferred
  • Multiple functional experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; compare data sources and develop appropriate solutions
  • Compile, organize, and format data for internal and external reporting
  • Identify and research reporting issues, recommend solutions, and assist with adopting new reporting requirements
  • Gather data and prepare regulatory schedules, pro-forma calculations, testimony, and data requests
  • Review and analyze regulatory documents
  • Reconcile the third-party shadow settlement system and financial statements
  • Design test scripts and perform testing of internal controls for Sarbanes-Oxley purposes
  • Apply technical knowledge to processes, procedures, and tasks
  • Verify and prepare documentation related to the cash settlement process for MISO
  • Collaboratively develop solutions across ES&O, Accounting, and Rates
  • Document work fully and accurately
  • Identify, analyze, and improve existing organizational processes
