Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to maintain and optimize NMHC hardware, operating systems, and connectivity across the IT environment in Chicago. You will monitor performance, plan upgrades, and ensure capacity and availability to meet user needs in a healthcare setting.

This role provides technical leadership, collaborates with application teams, and supports a robust end-user IT infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in core discipline.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Experience in healthcare IT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains solid technical competence for assigned services and systems while grasping integration and interaction of all supported services.
• Provides technical leadership and support for computing systems and systems integration.
• Conducts performance and capacity analyses to assure system reliability.
• Maintains broad knowledge of NMHC IT server/distributed systems.
• Coordinates problem determination and solution with vendors and manufacturers.
