Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer to serve as a senior technical contributor responsible for the design, development, and support of enterprise ServiceNow applications and platform capabilities. This role partners closely with product owners, service managers, and technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions aligned with organizational priorities. The position requires deep ServiceNow platform expertise, sound architectural judgment, and the ability to mentor other developers while ensuring adherence to platform standards, governance, and best practices.

Location & Contract

Required Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience in enterprise or large-scale environments.
• 3+ years of experience building and supporting custom applications using App Engine Studio.
• 3+ years of experience working within Agile or sprint-based delivery models.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.

Preferred Certifications

• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
• ITIL 4 Foundation or equivalent ITSM experience.

Preferred Skills

• Strong experience with server-side scripting, including Script Includes, Business Rules, and Scripted REST APIs.
• Advanced proficiency with GlideRecord, query optimization, and transactional logic.
• Experience with Flow Designer, including reusable actions, subflows, and orchestration patterns.
• Solid understanding of ACL design, role hierarchy, and access evaluation order.
• Experience designing and supporting Configurable Workspace and UI Builder-based experiences.
• Familiarity with Platform Analytics, including indicators, breakdowns, and dashboards.
• Experience with REST-based integrations and JSON data exchange.
• Strong technical documentation skills, including design documentation and implementation guidance.

Specialized Skills

• App Engine & Custom Application Development: Design and build upgrade-safe, maintainable applications using App Engine Studio, scoped applications, and platform APIs.
• Workspace & UI Configuration: Develop role-aware, task-focused user experiences using Configurable Workspace, UI Policies, Client Scripts, and UI Builder.
• Integration & Automation: Implement and support inbound and outbound integrations using Scripted REST APIs and IntegrationHub patterns where applicable.
• Platform Governance & Standards: Apply platform guardrails, naming conventions, access controls, and architectural best practices to ensure long-term platform health.
• Agile Delivery & Collaboration: Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and change review processes while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Mentorship & Technical Leadership: Provide guidance to mid-level and delegated developers, review code, and promote consistent development standards.
