Job summary

Morgan Properties is hiring an experienced Senior Service Technician at Park Laurel in Laurel, MD. This full-time role blends hands-on leadership with maintenance ownership to ensure standards across the community.

You will diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and related systems, while managing on-call duties and maintaining inventory. Growth and certification support are offered within a supportive team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the maintenance team in diagnosing problems and completing repairs.

  • Be accountable for a 24-hour on-call schedule and emergencies.
  • Manage and organize inventory of maintenance materials.
  • Establish schedules for on-call coverage, preventive maintenance, and daily work orders.
  • Regularly inspect community buildings and vacant units.
  • Execute tasks assigned by the Service Manager with urgency and accountability.

What you will be doing: We are seeking a Senior Service Technician with a “Whatever It Takes” approach to join our team! This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be expected to step in, take ownership, and deliver results right away.

In this full-time role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the physical aspects of the community meet company standards and applicable laws. As the Senior Service Technician, you will:

  • Lead, develop, and mentor the team in diagnosing problems and completing repairs
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool maintenance, carpentry, drywall, exterior structures, and appliances
  • Be accountable for a 24-hour on-call schedule, including personal availability for emergencies such as snow, ice, or urgent site issues
  • Manage and organize inventory of all maintenance materials
  • Establish and drive schedules – on-call coverage, preventive maintenance, make-readies, and daily work orders
  • Conduct regular inspections of community buildings and vacant units
  • Execute tasks assigned by the Service Manager with urgency and accountability

What we’ll expect from you:

  • Active and valid driver’s license and personal vehicle
  • Ability to live within a 30-minute commute of the property
  • HVAC/EPA/CFC Certification preferred
  • One-year certificate, 2–4+ years of related experience, or equivalent education
  • Ability to lead, work fast, and operate without constant

  • Pay Range: $25.00–$31.00/per hour
