Senior Service Reliability Engineer - Apple Data Platform

The Apple Services Engineering team (ASE) powers the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books, delivering entertainment in over 35 languages across more than 150 countries. They build secure, end-to-end solutions, developing custom software, tools for media delivery, server-side systems, and APIs for various Apple services.

Description

As a Service Reliability Engineer, you will ensure the platform for mission-critical cloud systems maintains uptime, scales seamlessly, and supports new applications and services. The role requires a self-motivated individual passionate about excellence, quality, and detail, working closely with developers and architects to enhance stability, security, and scalability.

Responsibilities

1. Operate, monitor, and triage production and non-production environments.
2. Automate deployment and orchestration of services in cloud environments and routine processes.
3. Work with multiple cloud providers like AWS and GCP.
4. Participate in capacity planning, scale testing, and disaster recovery exercises.
5. Collaborate with engineering, QA, and project management teams.
6. Maintain relationships with internal and external vendors.
7. Design and implement RESTful/RPC APIs and services using Golang or Python.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, engineering, or related experience.
• 2+ years in Service Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure roles.
• Proficiency in Golang and Python.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multiple cloud platforms like AWS and GCP.
• Experience designing RESTful/RPC APIs and services.
• Experience with Kubernetes and AWS.
