Typing a question into Google is now just one option among many: asking an AI assistant, scrolling TikTok, or searching YouTube are just as common. We're seeking a senior-level strategist who can make sure our clients are visible across all of it. Your day-to-day focus will be the content and website architecture side of that growth: turning raw client data, business insights and goals into keyword strategies, site structures, and well-organized content strategies. Whether that means enhancing what's already live or driving strategy for new sites, pages, or experiences built to perform from day one. This is a hands-on individual contributor role, built for someone who wants to help define what organic growth looks like as search keeps changing.Key Responsibilities Content Strategy, Research & Intent Mapping (Main Focus) • Data Mining to Strategy: Uncover hidden content opportunities by reviewing raw client files, customer service logs, white papers, product docs, and internal datasets to build long-term strategy plans. • Keyword & Intent Mapping: Group search terms into semantic keyword clusters and map queries across the full user journey — informational, commercial, transactional, and conversational — to build topical authority without keyword cannibalization. • On-Page Outlines & Blueprints: Develop detailed page outlines, structural recommendations, and content briefs for stakeholders. Website & Information Architecture (Main Focus) • Sitemaps & Hierarchy: Audit whole-site structures to design intuitive URL taxonomies, subfolder frameworks, and clear site navigation paths. • Strategic Internal Linking: Design internal interlinking frameworks to distribute page authority, establish topical depth, and guide users through conversion funnels. • Multi-Site Execution: Comfortably build, manage, and present holistic content and website search strategies across multiple client websites simultaneously. AI Search & Generative Engine Optimization • Adapt content, information architecture, and topical authority signals so client expertise is structured and surfaced effectively across AI-powered discovery platforms, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google's AI-powered search experiences. • Develop keyword, topic, and entity strategies that reflect how people search today — including conversational, intent-driven, and long-tail queries shaped by AI-assisted search behavior. • Stay invested in the future of search by exploring AI tools, testing new workflows, and rapidly adapting content and strategy as generative engines reshape discovery. Reporting, Project Management & Cross-Functional Leadership • Performance Reporting: Translate metrics from Google Search Console, GA4, and SEO dashboards into actionable insights and client-facing growth reports that drive sustainable results. • Cross-Functional Project Leadership: Coordinate closely with clients, content creators, marketing professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and cohesive SEO strategy across all channels and assets. • Present Strategies & Results: Present content and search strategies to internal stakeholders and clients, articulating the value and business impact of organic growth initiatives.Qualifications Core Requirements • Experience: At least 5 years in SEO or content strategy, with demonstrated results growing organic visibility and traffic. • Content & Keyword Mastery: High proficiency with keyword research, topic clustering, intent mapping, content auditing, and building internal linking strategies. • Communication & Problem-Solving: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the initiative to identify challenges and propose effective solutions. Comfortable presenting strategies to clients and internal stakeholders. • Team & Collaboration: Works effectively across teams and stakeholders, incorporating feedback from multiple groups — clients, content creators, marketing, and technical teams — into a cohesive strategy. • Project Management: Strong organizational skills and experience using project management tools to manage timelines. Expected Senior Technical Background (Foundational Knowledge) • Comfortable reading site crawl data (e.g., Screaming Frog) to spot indexation, canonical, or architecture issues. • Foundational understanding of site speed, Core Web Vitals, schema markup, and URL redirect mapping. • Familiarity with web development concepts (HTML, CSS, JSON) is a plus. Extra Considerations • Hands-on copywriting or editorial experience. • Familiarity with AI-powered discovery platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google's AI-powered search experiences) and how content structuring affects AI citation and visibility. • Relevant industry certifications (Google Analytics, Ahrefs, SEMrush, etc.). • Experience with CMS platforms.
