Job summary

Merkle in Chicago seeks a Manager, SEO & AI Discovery to lead SEO strategy across client accounts, own audits, and translate performance into business outcomes.

You will serve as the day-to-day search lead, develop measurement frameworks, and analyze data from GSC, GA4, crawl tools, and AI visibility platforms to drive actionable recommendations for content and engineering teams.

The annual salary range is 65K-75K with full benefits; this is a permanent, on-site role based in Chicago.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive SEO experience in an agency/consultancy environment.
• Strong technical SEO capabilities across crawl, indexation, rendering, and site architecture.
• Experience in SEO analysis and measurement with multiple data sources.
• Hands-on use of GSC, GA4, Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, Ahrefs, SEMRush, and data visualization tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead SEO strategy across assigned accounts and connect recommendations to client goals.
• Act as day-to-day search lead and translate priorities into actionable steps.
• Own complex SEO / AI audits and analyses across multiple domains.
• Develop measurement frameworks linking organic visibility to business outcomes.
• Turn data into decisions using multiple data sources to explain performance shifts.
• Create actionable, prioritized recommendations for client, content, and engineering teams.
