Job summary

NVIDIA Corporation in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Sr Sensor Hardware Safety Engineer to own the end-to-end hardware safety strategy for cameras, LiDAR, radar, IMUs, and other sensors across NVIDIA’s automotive platforms. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/computer engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in automotive sensors, hardware systems, functional safety, or related field.
• Understanding of cameras, LiDAR, radar, or IMUs and their hardware interfaces.
• Knowledge of safety analysis methodologies: FMEA, FMEDA, DFA, and FTA.
• Ability to work with sensor suppliers and multidisciplinary teams from concept through integration.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end sensor hardware safety strategy for cameras, LiDAR, radar, and IMUs.
• Evaluate sensor architectures, safety concepts, safety analyses, and integration assumptions with suppliers.
• Define and manage sensor hardware safety requirements for power, interfaces, timing, data integrity, fault detection and response.
• Collaborate with sensor architects, board and system designers, software teams, and validation engineers on safety implementations.
• Perform safety analyses (FMEA, FMEDA, DFA, FTA) to guide design decisions and improvements.
• Develop safety documentation, integration guidance, and user-facing safety information for internal teams and customers.
