Job summary

Timken Encoders, part of Cone Drive Operations in Traverse City, MI, seeks a Product/Applications Engineer to design and develop sensor products, work with customers, and support production launches. The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering (MS preferred), CAD experience, and 4+ years in related engineering, with strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Proficiency in Team Center, Pro/Engineer, and UG CAD is beneficial.

Qualifications

Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field; Masters preferred.
CAD experience in electrical/mechanical design.
Minimum 4 years in Product/Applications Engineering with similar products.
Strong verbal and written communication with customers and cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data presentation.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with customers, sales, and engineering to translate requirements into solutions.
Perform feasibility studies and tests for sensor products.
Design sensor products per requirements and customer specs; document and test design requirements for production.
Prepare technical proposals with drawings, calculations, and specifications for quotations and orders.
Coordinate with supply chain to identify suppliers and ensure capability and compliance.
Participate in pre-production and prototype activities and support Six Sigma initiatives.
