Job summary

Timken's Cone Drive Operations in Traverse City, Michigan is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead process development, production readiness and continuous improvement for encoder products.

You will collaborate with R&D, Production, Quality and Supply Chain to design manufacturable components, fixtures, and test methods, ensuring safety and cost-effective production. This role requires a Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years in manufacturing engineering with focus on tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years manufacturing engineering experience with emphasis in tool & fixture design.
• Good knowledge of product design and manufacturing processes.
• Proficient with basic computer skills, CAD, and electronics packaging.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the design team to develop and optimize mechanical designs for manufacturability.
• Lead process development, qualification, and transfer from prototype to production for encoder products.
• Specify and optimize assembly processes and fixtures.
• Design and implement production test strategies and tooling.
• Support new product introductions by ensuring manufacturing readiness.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency.
