Senior Sensor Analyst
Location: US-MD-Linthicum
Responsibilities
- Conduct intelligence analysis and operational planning to monitor, assess, and report on cyberspace operations, identifying potential threats to DoD critical assets, the DoD Information Network (DoDIN), and the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) networks, while supporting the US Intelligence Community and interagency sensor portfolios.
- Shape cyber defense strategies by conducting reviews, identifying gaps, recommending solutions, and evaluating large datasets to improve operational effectiveness.
- Research and evaluate technical and all-source intelligence focused on network operations and cyber warfare tactics and procedures related to threats against networked weapons platforms and DoD information networks.
- Analyze sensor data and network events to assess operational impact; research adversary capabilities; prepare intelligence assessments, technical papers, and cyber threat profiles.
- Develop and maintain analytical procedures to adapt to changing requirements and ensure effective operations; produce high-quality reports and presentations for senior government officials.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure effective cyber investigations, threat analysis, and mission support in a dynamic environment; candidates with Cyber Protection Team (CPT) experience may be a good fit.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD. Degree must be in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Software Engineering.
- In lieu of a degree in one of these fields, four additional years of relevant experience may be considered with one or more of the following professional certifications: CEH(P), GMON, GRID, Cloud+, FITSP-O, GCED, GDSA, GSEC, PenTest+, Security+, CySA+, GCFA, GCIA, CFR, CBROPS, or GICSP.
- Familiarity with Cloud Security Architecture and cybersecurity operations (e.g., incident response, forensic media analysis, malware analysis/reverse-engineering, threat intelligence analysis).
- In-depth knowledge of network and application protocols, cyber vulnerabilities, exploitation techniques, and adversary methodologies (TTPs).
- Proficiency in analyzing network data (e.g., Netflow, PCAP, logs) and using network sensors to support defensive cyber operations and investigations.
- Experience with Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS) and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) for threat detection and response.
- Familiarity with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) agents and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) forwarders for centralized logging and threat detection.
- Experience with vulnerability scanners and knowledge of log collectors to improve incident response and threat hunting capabilities.
- Experience drafting and editing finished intelligence, executive summaries, and other papers to prepare senior leaders.
- Clearance requirement: Active TS/SCI with Poly eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certifications in good standing are preferred: IAM Level II & III, CSSP Analyst (Security+, GSEC, CND, CISSP, CASP+, GCIH), or GIAC certifications.
- Experience with Law Enforcement/Counterintelligence (LE/CI) Operations and/or Cyberspace Operations.
- Skilled in building extended cybersecurity analytics and briefing Senior Executive Service (SES) and General Officer/Flag Officer (GO/FO) leadership.
- Experience in intelligence-driven defense and/or cyber Kill Chain methodologies.
- Cyber Network Defense Analyst (CNDA) experience.

Target Salary Range
$135,000 - $216,000. Salary is determined by factors including scope of responsibilities, experience, education, location, and contract considerations. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply.
