Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist to lead projects for Federal and Public sector clients, evaluating remediation technologies and designing sediment remediation solutions.

You will guide teams, communicate complex technical answers to clients, and apply CERCLA and related regulatory steps. Bachelor's degree with 7 years of related experience; travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree. 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• The frequency of travel is contingent on duties and workload.

Responsibilities

• Providing expertise in evaluating remediation technologies and preparing sediment remediation designs for various settings.
• Understanding principles of sediment transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, and remedial action construction.
• Providing support of statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serving as CDM Smith’s task manager on sediment sites and communicating technical strategy to clients.
• Possessing expertise in CERCLA, GLLA, and other regulatory steps at sediment sites.
• Serving as a technical liaison with clients and outside consultants and communicating complex evaluations.
• Leading staff in preparing and reviewing technical information to ensure regulatory compliance.
