Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist in the San Francisco area. The role requires independent work and project leadership across sediment remediation projects for Federal and Public sector clients, with travel to sites as needed.

The ideal candidate will apply engineering and scientific principles to evaluate remediation technologies, lead teams, communicate complex results to clients, and navigate CERCLA/GLLA regulatory steps while delivering

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; 7 years of related experience; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Provide expertise evaluating sediment remediation technologies and designs for riverine, coastal, riparian, and port settings with multiple stakeholders.
Understand sediment and contaminant transport principles, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, remedial design and construction.
Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager and communicate technical strategy to clients and SME teams.
Possess in-depth CERCLA, GLLA, and related regulatory process knowledge for sediment sites.
Act as liaison with clients, public, and outside consultants; communicate complex evaluations to non-experts.
Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical information to ensure regulatory compliance and quality.
