Job summary

LimnoTech is seeking an experienced Senior Sediment Remediation Specialist to lead investigations and design cleanup strategies for contaminated sediment sites in riverine, lacustrine, estuarine, and marine environments. Base in DC area with multiple office options including DC, Ann Arbor, Los Angeles, or Oakdale.

The role requires a minimum of 10+ years in the field, a BS in a related science, and a PE license (PGs valued). Hydrodynamic modeling and data analysis experience are strong assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or closely related science with 10+ years in the field; Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.
• Active PE license for engineers; PG or related credentials valued for scientists.
• Specialized training in hydrodynamic modeling or statistical data analysis is a significant advantage.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification with annual refreshers required.
• Participation in industry organizations (Battelle Sediment Conference, ITRC) encouraged.
• Interest or experience in urban waterfront restoration or nature-based solutions is a plus.
• Must be legally able to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex environmental investigations and design cleanup strategies for sediment sites.
• Manage projects through full life cycle, including scopes, budgets, and client relations.
• Provide regulatory expertise on contaminated sediment projects (CERCLA, RCRA, state programs).
• Lead marketing and business development activities, including proposals, project profiles, and conferences.
