Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Senior Security Technology Designer in Austin, TX to lead design efforts for low-to-moderate complexity projects with a security focus. You will mentor staff, oversee design calculations, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant solutions.

Responsibilities include client engagement, budgeting, scheduling, and ensuring IMEG standards and industry codes are met. This role offers remote-eligible work and up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

• Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred.
• 9 years of experience minimum required, 10 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for IT structured cabling, audio/video, security, and other low-voltage building systems.
• Create designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
• Interact with clients to understand needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively.
• Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet deadlines and objectives.
• Document design decisions and client instructions while monitoring progress related to percent complete and fee expended.
• Analyze engineering problems and collaborate with senior engineers to develop practical solutions.
• Provide in-process design reviews and implement IMEG quality control processes to meet standards.
