IMEG in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Security Technology Designer to lead design efforts on low-voltage building systems with a security focus, coordinating with engineers and consultants to deliver projects.

The role involves client interaction, project planning, budgeting, scheduling, mentoring, and ensuring IMEG quality standards while advancing safety and innovation across education, institutional, and MEPO markets.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications.
• Strong technical and analytical skills including fundamentals of electrical voltage and current, signals, and IT networking as it relates to LV systems.
• Strong training and mentoring skills.
• Proficiency of industry standard engineering software and tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Eagerness to adapt to new challenges.
• Proficiency in BIM software.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written form to individuals or groups.
• Must travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for IT structured cabling, AV, security and other low-voltage building systems.
• Create detailed designs, specifications and calculations per code and IMEG standards.
• Interact with clients to understand needs and build client relationships.
• Support project planning, budgeting and scheduling tasks.
• Document design decisions and monitor progress.
• Analyze engineering problems and develop practical solutions with senior staff.
• Provide in-process design reviews and ensure quality standards are met.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Prioritize safety and mitigate risks in LV ICT systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Identify project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager.
• Oversee bidding and construction administration.
