Job summary

Vector Security is seeking a Security Systems Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and upgrade commercial security systems including intrusion, fire, CCTV, and access control. You will support hardwired and wireless solutions and mentor junior technicians.

The role requires hands-on experience with major platforms, strong customer communication, and the ability to resolve complex issues while maintaining safety and compliance. Richmond, VA area with on‑the‑road responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3-5 years industry experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting in electronic security and IP networks.
• State Licensing required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial security systems (access control, CCTV, intrusion).
• Respond to service calls promptly to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance and system testing per specs.
• Program/configure security systems and related software platforms.
• Document service activities and communicate status to customers.
• Coordinate with supervisors and support teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain inventory and provide customer training on system operation.
