Job summary

Vector Security is seeking a Senior Systems Technician in Columbia, SC region to lead installation of commercial security systems and mentor junior techs. The role covers wired and wireless security deployments, basic access control and video surveillance integration, and troubleshooting complex network issues on-site.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years field experience in life safety or home automation, plus a valid driver’s license and preferred ESA NICET certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of field experience or equivalent tech education/certification.
• 2+ years in life safety or home automation preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean history.
• ESA Alarm Technician Level 2 or equivalent preferred.
• NICET Fire or Video Level 1 preferred.
• Effective communication with customers and teams.
• Ability to understand hardware and panel functionality.

Responsibilities

• Install wired and wireless security systems with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoot complex systems and network issues.
• Run and conceal wires neatly.
• Explain system functionality to customers.
• Maintain clean, safe job sites.
• Mentor junior technicians and provide on-site training.
