Job summary

Vector Security is seeking a Senior Systems Technician in the Columbia, SC region to install and service complex commercial security systems, including wired and wireless components, access control, and video surveillance. The role emphasizes clear communication with customers and mentoring junior technicians.

You will troubleshoot network issues, perform system commissioning, and ensure safety and organization on site while delivering high-quality, reliable security solutions for enterprise

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3 – 5 years of field experience or equivalent technical education or certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of life safety and home automation equipment experience - preferred

Responsibilities

• Install commercial security systems (wired and wireless) with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoot complex systems and network issues; basic integration.
• Run and fish wires in a concealed manner.
• Set up and communicate system functionality to customers; answer questions.
• Keep job site clean and organized for safe work practices.
• Mentor entry-level and Level 1 technicians; share learned information.
• Review work of Entry Level and Level 1 technicians and provide training to correct errors.
• Train and mentor entry-level technicians on packages and/or less complex systems.
