Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Security Systems Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities. This role collaborates with sales, field project teams, and clients to ensure sound design and seamless installation of security solutions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a building security tech role and solid knowledge of access control, CCTV, and voice/data systems. Expect on-site work, problem solving, and strict safety compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building security systems as a technician.
• Knowledge of access control, CCTV, and voice/data systems.
• Ability to program and commission mid-range to complex security systems.
• Advanced computer knowledge related to use, installation, and programming software.

Responsibilities

• Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project management, and sales for successful project execution.
• Install, program, and commission access control, CCTV, and voice/data systems via laptop computers.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
• Responsible for programming, commissioning, and final acceptance by customers, engineering forms and end users.
• Perform complex troubleshooting and enact effective resolution.
• Deliver projects on schedule and within cost budgets.
• Manage project and vehicle inventory.
• Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other technicians.
• Demonstrate proper operation of equipment and control units to customers, including instructions and how to respond to any system signals.
• Communicate and coordinate with onsite contractors.
• Interact with the owner’s representative for testing and to resolve any minor issues related to a security system final test.
• Make field decisions related to the installation of items such as audible and visual notification and detection placement.
• Take ownership of onsite project(s) including safety, quality, and performance.
• Comply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies.
