Job summary

SciensBuilding Solutions is seeking an experienced Security Systems Technician to program, commission, and troubleshoot security systems for a seamless design and installation. The role collaborates with sales, field teams, and clients to ensure quality results and customer satisfaction.

The position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage project timelines and safety standards. Local travel and on-site work are expected.

Qualifications

• Two to five (2-5) years of experience in a technician role within the building security systems industry.
• Knowledge of current security systems including access control, CCTV, and voice and data systems.
• Ability to program and commission mid-range security systems.
• State, local, contract, and/or product specific certifications determined by the business.
• Ability to read security system design drawings.
• Ability to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Able to travel occasionally overnight.

Responsibilities

• Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project management, and sales departments for successful project execution.
• Install, program, and commission access control, CCTV, and voice and data systems via laptop computers.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
• Responsible for programming, commissioning, and final acceptance by customers, engineering forms and end-users.
• Perform troubleshooting and enact effective resolution.
• Deliver projects on schedule and within cost budgets.
• Assist in the oversight of project and vehicle inventory.
• Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other technicians.
• Demonstrate proper operation of equipment and control units to customers, including instructions and how to respond to any system signals.
• Communicate and coordinate with onsite contractors.
• Comply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies.
