Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Principal Security Software Engineer (Storage) to design, secure and integrate storage software across platforms, including Kubernetes-based services. This role is onsite with office presence in California.

You will drive architecture, mentor teams, evaluate new security technologies, and partner with executives to align security strategy with business needs and regulatory standards such as FIPS and Common Criteria.

Qualifications

• Master's and PhD degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Specialization or prior experience in Computer or Network Security is highly desirable
• Typically 15+ years experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops organization-wide architectures and methodologies for software systems design and development across multiple platforms and organizations.
• Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships for alignment with technology roadmap and business value; creates plans for integration and update into architecture.
• Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
• Leverages domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive leadership, outsourced partners, and industry standards groups.
• Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members to set an example of software systems design and development innovation and excellence.
• Act as a security consultant to engineering teams, reviewing the architecture, features and technical decisions from a security perspective.
• Manage the Vulnerability backlog, response and remediation plan for the entire product.
