Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a senior cloud security engineer to partner with SRE, architecture and product teams to implement secure-by-design principles in our cloud environments.

You will monitor and improve security posture across AWS, Azure, and GCP, drive risk-based initiatives, support compliance activities, and mentor junior engineers while advancing zero-trust and containerized Kubernetes deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or closely related quantitative discipline.
• Typically 7-10 years of experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, and JavaScript.
• Experience with cloud security tools and services (Wiz, Defender for Cloud, GuardDuty, CloudTrail).
• Understanding of microservice architectures and secure containerized, Kubernetes-managed environments.

Responsibilities

• Partner with SRE, architecture, and application teams to implement security best practices and secure-by-design principles in the cloud.
• Plan, prioritize, and improve security initiatives to mitigate risks towards cloud environments and assets.
• Collaborates with engineering, product management, other security teams and partners to ensure effective delivery and support of cloud security engagements.
• Monitor and improve cloud security posture across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments, leveraging metrics to drive improvements and governance.
• Support compliance activities, cloud threat detection, incident response investigations, and forensic initiatives as needed.
