Job summary

Bot Auto in Houston is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Security Engineering to design, build, and operate security across its autonomous trucking stack. You will own onboard and cloud security, and shape how Bot Auto adopts AI responsibly.

As a hands-on technical leader, you will implement security controls, conduct threat modeling, and mentor developers to embed security into every layer of the system—from vehicle to cloud.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering with a security focus.
• Strong knowledge of cryptography, authz/authn, secure design and common flaws.
• Experience securing cloud infra and distributed systems in production.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls for onboard and cloud systems.
• Architect security across Kubernetes, AWS, on-prem, CI/CD, and dev platforms.
• Develop protections for AI systems: prompt injection, model risks, sandboxing.
• Build IAM, secrets management, and least-privilege access across services.
• Conduct threat modeling, security design reviews, and risk assessments.
• Establish SSDLC, vulnerability management, and supply-chain scanning.
• Develop detection, logging, and incident response capabilities.
• Champion security-first culture with tooling, docs, and mentorship.
