Security Engineers at GuidePoint are experienced, autonomous professionals who are deeply involved in the entire security technology lifecycle, from pre-sales to delivery. They have the freedom to scope and deliver engagements independently.

As both a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) and a professional services organization, our Security Engineers continually expand their knowledge of the latest security technologies to better serve clients. This position is remote/virtual; candidates must reside in the Greater Chicago or Milwaukee areas or be willing to travel 75% of the time within our North Central territory.

Position Requirements:

• Must reside in Cincinnati, OH, and be open to local/regional travel for events
• Minimum 5 years in enterprise security consulting, vendor, or operational roles, building and assessing security architectures and programs
• Proficiency in multiple security technologies: network security, NGFW, cloud security, Data Security, Vulnerability & Risk Management, Proxy, EDR, IAM, SIEM & Analytics
• Strong listening skills to understand client issues and collaborate on solutions
• Proactive research of emerging vendors and technologies
• Excellent soft skills for articulating complex technical content to diverse audiences
• Ability to improve and create new offerings, authoring technical and business collateral
• Remote work when not visiting clients or attending meetings
• Travel within Cincinnati metro area required
• Role split: 70% presales, 30% delivery

Technical Requirements:

• Deep proficiency in multiple security technologies: network security, NGFW, cloud security, DLP, CASB, Proxy, IAM, SIEM/Analytics
• Expertise in designing enterprise-scale security solutions
• Strong networking and troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency with various operating systems: Windows, Nix, OSX
• Knowledge of advanced security concepts: Zero Trust, defense in depth

Preferred:

• Experience with Symantec DLP, ForeScout, Palo Alto, Check Point, CrowdStrike, Splunk, AWS/Azure/GCP
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of security engineering or internal security program leadership
• Pre-sales experience preferred
