Schedule:Alternating Weeks
Week 1:Five 8-hour shiftswith2 days off
Week 2:Four 10-hour shiftswith3 days off
Days off will varybased on shift coverage needs
Position Summary:
TheSenior Security Officeris responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all patients, staff, volunteers, visitors, students, equipment, and property at COH, Chicago. This role requires a proactive and professional approach to maintaining a secure healthcare environment and responding to incidents with sound judgment and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and secure hospital premises through regular patrols and surveillance.
Respond to incidents involving physical violence or active threats.
Document all incidents through detailed report writing, including:
Lost and found
Alarms
Disruptive or unruly individuals
Vandalism, theft, or other security concerns
Collaborate with hospital staff and emergency responders as needed.
Support and mentor junior security officers as a senior team member.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver's License
Certifications (Required or Obtainable):
Basic Life Support (BLS)certification (CPR/AED) within 6 months of hire
Eligibility to carry a concealed firearmunder theLaw Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) of 2004, or ability to obtain eligibility through the State of Illinois within 90 days of hire
Maintain currentfirearms qualificationunder LEOSA
Maintain a validIllinois Firearm Owner's Identification (FOID) Card(Illinois residents only)
