Schedule:Alternating Weeks

• Week 1:Five 8-hour shiftswith2 days off

• Week 2:Four 10-hour shiftswith3 days off

• Days off will varybased on shift coverage needs

Position Summary:

TheSenior Security Officeris responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all patients, staff, volunteers, visitors, students, equipment, and property at COH, Chicago. This role requires a proactive and professional approach to maintaining a secure healthcare environment and responding to incidents with sound judgment and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and secure hospital premises through regular patrols and surveillance.

• Respond to incidents involving physical violence or active threats.

• Document all incidents through detailed report writing, including:

  • Lost and found

  • Alarms

  • Disruptive or unruly individuals

  • Vandalism, theft, or other security concerns

• Collaborate with hospital staff and emergency responders as needed.

• Support and mentor junior security officers as a senior team member.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Valid Driver's License

Certifications (Required or Obtainable):

• Basic Life Support (BLS)certification (CPR/AED) within 6 months of hire

• Eligibility to carry a concealed firearmunder theLaw Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) of 2004, or ability to obtain eligibility through the State of Illinois within 90 days of hire

• Maintain currentfirearms qualificationunder LEOSA

• Maintain a validIllinois Firearm Owner's Identification (FOID) Card(Illinois residents only)
