Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Security and Networking Engineer to fortify the security of our network infrastructure and protect high-traffic platforms. The role combines deep network security with web app security and requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in network security and web application security.
• Solid networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, CDN, TLS/SSL.
• Understanding of WAF concepts and experience with DDoS protection, bot mitigation and edge security solutions.
• Willingness to rapidly gain expertise in the Akamai platform.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and cross-functional collaboration.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Investigate security incidents and optimize security configurations across the platform.
• Collaborate with Security, DevOps, Infra and Applications teams to strengthen protection.
• Configure and manage DDoS protection, bot mitigation and web application firewall solutions.
• Analyze HTTP/HTTPS traffic to detect and mitigate potential threats.
• Maintain and enhance edge security solutions on the Akamai platform.
• Troubleshoot networking issues related to TCP/IP, DNS, CDN and TLS/SSL.
• Build expertise in Akamai security products to support platform operations.
• Ensure high availability through load balancing and proxy configurations.
