Job summary

Planet Group is partnering with a Madison, WI area company to locate a Senior Security Infrastructure Engineer with hands-on cybersecurity experience to shape how the organization protects its systems and data. You will deploy and manage security technologies, investigate incidents, and drive vulnerability remediation across endpoints, networks, and cloud environments.

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required, with at least five years in security engineering and familiarity with

Qualifications

• Hands-on cybersecurity engineering experience.
• Experience with security controls and incident handling.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain security technologies across endpoints, networks, and shared infrastructure.
• Improve threat visibility through centralized logging, SIEM capabilities, and actionable security alerts.
• Investigate potential incidents, contain threats, and implement changes to reduce repeat events.
• Run vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation with teams.
• Manage controls such as endpoint protection, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and data loss prevention.
• Help teams securely introduce new systems and update infrastructure.
• Translate security requirements into configurations and safeguards.
• Assess risks to sensitive information and improve access, retention, and protection.
• Maintain documentation on configurations, procedures, and incidents.
• Review threats and advisories to determine necessary actions.
• Support security awareness efforts.
