Job summary

Allstate Insurance’s Cybersecurity & Controls group is building three new security engineering teams to embed security controls across the tech ecosystem. The Senior Security Engineering Manager will lead day-to-day development, implementation, and production support, partnering with global stakeholders to align secure software, cloud, and DevSecOps practices with business goals.

This role demands hands-on technical leadership, strong risk awareness, and accountability for security KPIs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in security engineering with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Deep understanding of secure software development, vulnerability management, cloud security, and modern security engineering practices
• Experience with secure software configuration and development, including APIs, authentication/authorization, encryption, and threat modeling
• Experience with modern security frameworks, tools, and DevSecOps practices
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Experience in secure SDLC and Agile methodologies (SCRUM)
• Commitment to continuous learning and security excellence

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day development, implementation, and support of security controls across multiple engineering teams
• Translate security strategy into meaningful goals and KPIs
• Build relationships across the organization to align security with business objectives
• Design, implement, and productize security controls for complex business challenges
• Provide leadership for security engineering teams and ensure best practices across the organization
• Drive adoption of security controls and secure development practices
