Job summary

FHLBank Chicago is seeking a Senior Manager, Information Security Engineering to lead the design, engineering, and lifecycle management of technical security controls across on-premises, cloud, and SaaS environments. You will report to the CSO and manage a blended team of employees and contractors, shaping priorities and standards.

You will drive a defense-in-depth strategy, translate risk and policy into practical controls, and collaborate with architecture, security operations, and IT risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, engineering, computer science, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, or cloud security with leadership.
• Experience in AWS and Azure security services, identity, logging, and encryption.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, engineering, and lifecycle management of security controls across on-prem, cloud, and SaaS.
• Align security capabilities to NIST CSF and regulatory requirements.
• Provide engineering leadership, roadmaps, budgets, and vendor management.
• Develop metrics and dashboards for control health, coverage, and risk reduction.
• Support incidents, vulnerability remediation, audits, and threat-driven improvements.
