Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to support the vulnerability management lifecycle across our client projects. The role focuses on operating scanning tools, analyzing findings, and delivering remediation guidance to software and infrastructure teams.

The position requires strong Tenable experience, solid Windows and Linux knowledge, and the ability to translate complex risk into actionable steps for technical stakeholders in a remote, contract setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cybersecurity with vulnerability management focus.
• Experience with Tenable products, preferably Tenable Security Center.
• Ability to analyze vulnerabilities and produce remediation guidance.
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and translate risk to technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Brinqa or similar platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the end-to-end vulnerability management lifecycle from identification to remediation guidance.
• Operate and maintain vulnerability scanning capabilities (Tenable Security Center).
• Analyze findings, determine risk, and communicate priorities to technology teams.
• Develop remediation guidance and compensating controls when full remediation is not feasible.
• Coordinate remediation activities with application owners and infrastructure teams.
• Create detailed technical documentation and remediation instructions for partner teams.
• Support ingestion and management of findings within Brinqa or similar platforms.
• Work across Windows, Linux, cloud, and other environments to drive vulnerability management.
• Align processes with PCI, HIPAA, and SOX compliance.
• Research emerging vulnerabilities and vulnerability management practices as needed.
