Job summary

Gemini is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to shape security strategy, design and implement robust controls, and ensure resilient infrastructure and applications. The role emphasizes leadership, mentoring, and proactive threat mitigation.

The team prioritizes collaboration across IT, development, and operations, with a strong focus on risk, governance, and regulatory compliance. The base NY salary is substantial, with discretionary bonuses and equity potential in a hybrid US setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 8–10+ years of experience in security engineering with a proven track record.
• Deep expertise in security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, and vulnerability management.
• Experience with cloud security, network security, application security, and IAM.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to convey complex security concepts clearly.
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of security strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Provide technical leadership to security engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Architect and design secure systems, apps, and infrastructure.
• Develop and implement security controls, monitoring, and incident response.
• Conduct risk assessments, penetration tests, and vulnerability scans.
• Lead incident response and post-incident analysis.
• Mentor and train junior security engineers and promote security awareness.
• Collaborate with IT, development, and operations to integrate security practices.
