Job summary

Gemini is seeking an experienced Staff Security Engineer to shape security strategy and lead design/implementation of robust security solutions. You will guide security architecture across infrastructure and applications, mentor junior engineers, and ensure compliance with industry standards in a hybrid remote/onsite environment.

The role emphasizes leadership, proactive threat mitigation, and collaboration with IT, development, and operations teams to secure the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 8-10+ years of experience in security engineering.
• Deep expertise in security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, vulnerability management).
• Proven experience with cloud security, network security, application security, and IAM.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks and regulations (NIST, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of security strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Provide technical leadership to security engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Architect and design secure systems and infrastructure; implement security controls and monitoring.
• Identify and mitigate security risks; conduct risk assessments and incident response planning.
• Ensure compliance with standards (GDPR, CCPA, NIST, ISO 27001).
• Mentor and train junior security engineers; promote security awareness.
