Job summary

Swisher is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to design and implement comprehensive security strategies protecting systems, data, and applications. You will lead architecture development, SIEM, DLP, IPS, and incident response while collaborating with engineering teams to mitigate threats.

The role emphasizes cloud security, encryption, identity management, and regulatory compliance, with on‑call duties and continuous security posture improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of IT experience.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks.
• Experience with encryption, system and network security, cloud security, and identity management.
• Strong understanding of security tools (SIEM, firewalls, anti-malware).
• Cloud platforms experience (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Experience with security assessments and penetration testing.
• Knowledge of PCI and privacy regulations.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Security accreditation (CISSP, GCIH, CISM).

Responsibilities

• Design, deployment, and support of secure systems aligned with business objectives and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and best practices.
• Architect, build, and support security infrastructure (SIEM, DLP, IPS).
• Manage security systems including provisioning, monitoring, and incident response.
• Provide on-call support for production incidents outside business hours.
• Research emerging threats and pilot mitigation technologies with engineering teams.
• Improve security posture through threat analysis and vulnerability mitigation.
• Collaborate with leaders and teams to factor security into technology projects.
• Perform system patching, maintenance, and administration as needed.
