Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our Enterprise Application Security team and drive shift-left security across the software development lifecycle. You will embed security into code, pipelines, and architectures, partnering with software engineers to prevent vulnerabilities before they occur.

This high-impact engineering role focuses on automation, governance, and measurement of security health, including SAST, DAST, SCA, and AI-assisted development.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen due to contractual/access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and enforce shift-left security within CI/CD pipelines and AI-assisted development workflows.
• Lead risk-based triage and remediation prioritization of detected vulnerabilities with focus on critical/high findings.
• Architect and maintain an enterprise security toolchain, integrating scanners, code analysis, and governance across delivery teams.
• Enable and empower developers with secure coding practices, training, and reference architectures for AI-enabled applications.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field
