Job summary

Google Public Sector is seeking a Senior Security Engineer, OCONUS, to join the security team supporting federal and enterprise environments. You will work with network equipment, monitor systems for attacks, and collaborate with software engineers to fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

The National Security team provides expert-level cybersecurity services to federal agencies and drives R&D efforts within Google Public Sector. International travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
• 5 years of experience in cloud security, application security, security engineering, computer and network security, or security protocols.
• Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with current polygraph.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Identify security issues and implement and design security controls, tools, and services.
• Embed end-to-end security guardrails directly into the SDLC, building automated evaluation pipelines and continuous validation tools.
• Architect, build, and maintain Terraform modules and deployment blueprints enforcing zero-trust configurations.
• Leverage Generative AI to automate complex security testing and identify emerging attack vectors.
