Job summary

Unwrap is seeking a Security Engineer to lead and scale its security program from the engineering team, protecting customer data and driving security and compliance across the stack. The role is in-person in Santa Barbara, CA, requiring a hands-on leader to set roadmaps, assess risk, and work across product and leadership.

You will build security systems that adapt to evolving technology, own risk positions on product and vendor engagements, and advance identity, permissions, and SOC 2 readiness

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security engineering, detection engineering, or incident response, including time as a senior IC or technical lead.
• Broad technical depth across compute, network, and storage to judge real risk across the stack.
• Located in or willing to relocate to Santa Barbara and excited about working in-person 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Scale Unwrap’s security program by setting the roadmap, prioritizing by real risk, and reporting risk to leadership.
• Build systems that continuously improve security programs as the industry evolves.
• Be the voice of security risk and lead fast security reviews on product, architecture, and vendor risk.
• Evolve identity and permissions for AI features, and drive cloud hardening and SOC 2 efforts.
