Job summary

The Hartford in Palo Alto is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join the Information Protection (THIP) team. You will engineer and maintain Palo Alto platforms, focusing on firewall, web filtering, SSL Decryption, and overall system support.

You will work with AWS and GCP, advocate for automation, and help drive currency and stability in the security landscape. On-call rotation required and collaboration with production teams to secure vital infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 3+ years supporting Palo Alto firewall / technologies.
• Preferred to have both GCP and AWS experience
• Industry recognized certifications such as CISSP, AWS Security, Palo Alto Certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the technical design, implementation and operational support of firewall and related technologies in on-premise data center and cloud-hosted deployments.
• Track record in production or system support activities.
• Consult with business and vendor partners on network connectivity dependencies and authorizations across firewall systems.
• Support applications in responding to inquiries regarding policy controls.
• Respond to ad-hoc security consulting requests and assist teammates on security-related projects.
• Develop a dashboard to support analytics and metrics.
• Identify and assess the severity and potential impact of risks.
• Communicate risk findings to risk owners to drive objective decisions.
• Requires an off-hour on-call rotation.
