Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to design and enhance cloud threat detection across AWS and GCP, integrating telemetry into Splunk and the enterprise SIEM. You will partner with Cloud Operations, Incident Response, Detection Engineering, and SOC to strengthen monitoring and response for cloud environments.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with GuardDuty, CloudTrail, SCC, Cloud Logging, and related tools, and with developing high-fidelity detections mapped to MITRE

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cybersecurity experience in security operations, IR, threat detection, or detection engineering.
• Hands-on experience securing AWS and Google Cloud Platform environments.
• Strong knowledge of AWS/GCP security services.
• Experience integrating cloud telemetry with enterprise SIEM.
• Experience using enterprise SIEMs such as Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar, Cortex XSIAM.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy cloud threat detections for AWS and GCP.
• Integrate cloud telemetry into the enterprise SIEM and normalize data sources.
• Create and maintain SIEM detections, dashboards, and alerting content.
• TUNE detection logic to reduce false positives while improving coverage.
• Mentor SOC analysts on cloud threat investigations and triage.
