Job summary

Snap Inc. seeks a Senior Security Engineer to join the Infrastructure Security team. You will design security controls for Snap's backend services and cloud infrastructure, and drive secure CI/CD practices across multi‑cloud environments in collaboration with infra and product teams.

You will mentor engineers, advance secure design, and champion privacy across Snap’s technology ecosystem. Strong skills in Go/Python/Java and Kubernetes are expected.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in a technical field.
• 6+ years of post-Bachelor’s security experience; or advanced degrees with relevant experience.
• Experience with Java, C++, and/or Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement security controls for backend services and cloud infrastructure.
• Improve production security controls including visibility, hardening, identity, authentication, networking, and deployment policies.
• Conduct in-depth security reviews of platforms and integrations.
• Identify and remediate vulnerabilities across cloud environments and backend systems.
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with Infra, Product Eng, and Developer Productivity teams to embed secure design practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote security engineering excellence.
