Job summary

Muon Space is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our Security Engineering & IT team. You will own and advance our security posture across endpoints, networks, cloud environments, and identity systems, with a focus on compliance including NIST 800-171 and ITAR/EAR requirements. This hybrid role requires on-site presence three days per week or remote from an approved U.S.

location. You will design, implement, and monitor security controls, conduct assessments, and drive security

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in information security or security engineering.
• Hands-on experience with EDR/XDR platforms (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne).
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7).
• IAM administration experience (Okta, Azure AD).
• AWS security experience (IAM, VPC, Security Groups, CloudTrail, GuardDuty).
• SIEM experience (Splunk, Sentinel, Elastic).
• Strong networking knowledge (firewalls, DNS, network segmentation).

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage endpoint security solutions across macOS and Windows.
• Own network security architecture including firewall rules and VPN.
• Lead vulnerability management: scans, remediation, metrics.
• Administer IAM systems with SSO and access reviews.
• Develop security monitoring and alerting using SIEM.
• Assess new tools and vendors before deployment.
• Drive cloud security in AWS: IAM, S3, security groups, CloudTrail.
• Support compliance like NIST 800-171 and CMMC.
• Develop security awareness training and phishing simulations.
• Lead incident response and post-incident reporting.
• Maintain data loss prevention for CUI/sensitive data.
• Keep security documentation up to date.
