Job summary

Waymo is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to shape the cybersecurity of our autonomous driving products. You will define security concepts, perform threat analyses and risk assessments, and drive requirements across the product lifecycle.

Collaborating with engineering and safety teams, you will ensure compliance with ISO/SAE 21434 and related standards while guiding risk treatment and security testing for self-driving features.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in engineering or CS.
• Experience performing cybersecurity threat and risk assessments.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and deployments.
• Ability to create and negotiate targets with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate system elements and define a cybersecurity concept.
• Perform threat analysis and risk assessment per ISO/SAE 21434.
• Define and manage security requirements and risk treatment approaches.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on mitigations throughout the lifecycle.
• Coordinate with safety teams on cybersecurity and functional safety interactions.
• Maintain lifecycle compliance across projects and implement updates.
