Job summary

Vercel is seeking a Senior (IC4) software engineer with a strong security background to be embedded in the v0 team. You will own security end-to-end for everything v0 ships, including from design to production, and work closely with the HackerOne researcher community.

You will proactively hunt for vulnerabilities, build security features, review all new v0 work, and refine the threat model to prevent sandbox escapes, auth gaps, and prompt injection.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and shipping production web applications as a software engineer (IC4/Senior).
• Strong full-stack fundamentals across frontend and backend technologies.
• Real security judgment across design, sandboxing, and threat modeling.
• Ability to influence through code and own outcomes end-to-end.
• Comfortable working in ambiguity and taking initiative.
• Willingness to build with v0 and understand product end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Find and fix issues yourself: hunt for vulnerabilities across v0 and ship fixes.
• Build security features directly into the product (sandboxing, isolation, permissions).
• Review all new v0 features and launches as security reviewer of record before release.
• Own HackerOne relationships for v0 and coordinate with researchers on remediation.
• Own the v0 threat model and refine isolation, permissions, and defenses.
• Harden code execution boundaries: ensure sandbox and runtime isolation before touching real infra.
• Build guardrails and reusable patterns to speed secure shipping.
• Partner with central Product Security and share threat learnings and tooling.
• Respond to v0-specific security reports and incidents as first responder.
• Think like an attacker and an agent to prevent misuse.
