Job summary

Sezzle is seeking a hands-on Senior Security Engineer, Detection & Response, to strengthen security operations across cloud infrastructure and applications. You’ll own SIEM, detection rules, alert tuning, and incident investigations, driving long-term fixes and improvements.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in security, software, or infra engineering.
• Hands-on with cloud-based production security challenges.
• Experience with SIEM platforms for detection, monitoring and response.
• Strong vulnerability management skills: triage, remediation and verification.
• Knowledge of AWS, Linux and Kubernetes security practices.
• Familiarity with PCI DSS, SOC 2 and logging/monitoring requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate, and mature SIEM/XDR capabilities and alert workflows.
• Design detection strategies for suspicious activity and data exfiltration patterns.
• Extend audit coverage across Kubernetes, databases, SSO, and access telemetry.
• Lead incident investigations and drive long-term remediation.
• Run proactive threat hunts across cloud and identity planes.
• Coordinate vulnerability management with engineering teams.
