Job summary

Headway is hiring a Security Engineer in San Francisco to partner with Product and Engineering to embed security into new features from design to deployment. You will help build agentic tooling, advance AI-driven security workflows, and define guardrails so developers ship securely by default.

You’ll also contribute to incident response, vulnerability management, and security reviews, helping Headway maintain a world-class security program and protect patient data and platform reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security and/or software engineering roles with security responsibilities.
• Strong ability to partner with other teams to achieve goals.
• Deep technical experience building secure platforms and conducting design/code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product and Engineering to implement new features securely.
• Build agentic security tooling to address code problems at scale and define AI-native security.
• Define guardrails so developers can build securely by default and promote secure development practices.
• Assist in incident response, vulnerability management, penetration testing, and security reviews to keep Headway's program world-class.
