GEICO is seeking a highly experienced Senior Staff Security Engineer to lead vulnerability management and offensive security across a hybrid technology ecosystem. You will drive AI‑augmented security initiatives, partner with cross‑functional teams, and elevate the company’s security posture.

You bring 10+ years in cybersecurity, deep expertise in VM and offensive security, and a track record mentoring engineers just as you influence senior leaders with clear risk guidance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity or security engineering roles.
• Deep expertise with vulnerability management tools, methodologies, and industry standards.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP), container platforms and operating systems.
• Proficiency with Python, Go, or Java and scripting for automation at scale.
• Strong understanding of security architecture, networking, OS, identity and cloud services.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire engineers across teams.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence executives and translate risks.
• Hands‑on experience implementing cybersecurity frameworks e.g. NIST CSF.
• Hands‑on experience with leading compliance initiatives (PCI, SOX, NYDFS).

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and execution of Vulnerability Management, Offensive Security, and AI‑augmented security at scale.
• Manage full vulnerability lifecycle from discovery to remediation measurement.
• Collaborate with risk, compliance, governance, and incident response teams to ensure alignment.
• Define KPIs, dashboards, and reporting models to drive vulnerability reduction.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers and influence architecture and engineering leadership.
